I would like to share a story with all of you that has nothing to do with my trip but I have a great opportunity to share it with several people over this blog. I think it is important information and should be spread. Last night I attended a speaker at the Kirkwood Hotel. Her name is Abby Johnson and if you have not heard her name before she use to work for Planned Parenthood and quit after she was asked to help with an ultrasound guided abortion. The post you are about to read is graphic so if you would rather not know what goes on behind closed doors then please do not read! This will open your eyes to what our government allows to go on in this country.
Abby grew up in a home with parents who were prolife but she herself did not have an opinion. When Abby attended college she was introduced to Planned Parenthood at a school wellness fair. The woman who talked to Abby told her all the great things P.P. does for women. These included exams, birth control, and general health. Yes, they performed abortions but that their goal was to minimize the number of abortions by providing other preventative services. So just like that Abby began volunteering at P.P. because she had always felt the need to help women. When Abby graduated she began working at P.P. where she worked her way to the top.
One day a new doctor at the site where Abby worked said he would be doing abortions a little differently that was against protocol. He would be using an ultrasound throughout the entire abortion for the mother’s safety. Normal protocol is to have an ultrasound before each abortion but this in only necessary to figure out the baby’s gestational age for billing. Yes, abortion prices are based on how far along the fetus is developed. After the gestational age is calculated then the ultrasound is rolled to the side of the room and the process is done blind. This is dangerous because the prod/vacuum can penetrate the uterine wall and cause bleeding, infection, and possibly not allowing future pregnancies. This new doctor liked to use the ultrasound throughout the entire abortion to prevent damaging the uterus and to be sure all the fetal parts were removed because that too can cause infection. Abby thought this was a great idea and wondered why using a ultrasound throughout the whole process was not protocol. When she talked to her boss he explained that it would add an extra 5 mins to each abortion. Abortions are already done in 5 mins but apparently time is money.
Abby had been working for P.P. for 8 yrs when she saw her first abortion. The doctor allowed her to see the ultrasound guided abortion. It was Abby’s job to guide the ultrasound during the procedure. Keep in mind at P.P. you do not need to be medically certified to do some procedures. Using the ultrasound only requires a 2hr class at P.P. What I am going to explain next is what Abby saw. If you do not want to know details of an abortion please do not read this paragraph! The baby being aborted was 16 weeks. It looked like a baby on the ultrasound. It had arms, hands, fingers and toes. Most states allow abortions up to24-25 weeks. Some states even allow abortions that are full term. Of course, the main question clients ask is “will my baby feel this?” P.P. answer is “the neuro system is not developed before 25 weeks.” So, as Abby watched the ultrasound she saw the first medical device go into the uterus and poke the baby in the side. The baby jumped and tried moving to the top of the womb. Do you think this baby can’t feel anything? Next the baby became dismembered by the device. The vacuum was turned on and the procedure was over. Abby was devastated that she had stood there and done nothing as this child was killed before her eyes. The contents in the vacuum were then taken to a lab where it is someone’s job to put the baby back together to assure all the body parts were removed from the uterus. Abby then explained an instance when an arm was left in the uterus during a blind procedure. The woman became very sick was hospitalized. She needed an emergency hysterectomy because her entire reproductive system had developed gangrene. Because most of these women are uneducated, P.P. paid this woman $876 to keep her story quiet. This woman can never have children again because P.P. failed at two protocols and she was compensated $876.
Abby went home and began thinking about her career. She thought of all the lies she had accepted from the company she represented. She quit her job and P.P. took her to court for quitting and becoming prolife. They claimed she had a lot of confidential information they did not want getting out. Today Abby travels and informs people of who Planned Parenthood truly is. Before quitting Abby reviewed the years income she had noticed that the number of abortions has doubled. When she asked her boss about it he had said that the increase was good and a money maker. The truth is that 51% of P.P.’s income is from abortions. There are about 75 abortions done each day, six days a week in most locations. P.P. has a quota of abortions that needs to be met each month. About 330,000 abortions are done each year by Planned Parenthood. P.P. has a DAILY income of 1.3 million dollars and 50% of this is tax payers money.
The company Abby works for now actually has sent in actors to P.P. with hidden cameras. The actors posed as a pimp and prostitute. They explained that they had a sex trafficking business with illegal immigrants that were also extremely under age. They asked if P.P. could make arrangements to abort a few of their prostitutes’ babies who were illegal and under age. This act was done at 17 P.P. locations. All 17 locations agreed to make a secrete arrangement.
If you have never had an opinion on abortion I hope that you now do. I don’t think we should be criticizing those who make the choice to have an abortion but those who hook them into it. Those companies who use all the right lingo to make it seem ok. Abby stated that over 90% of the abortions done were because it was an inconvenient time for the mother. Rarely did a rape victim walk into the clinic. I cannot explain everything Abby talked about. This post is just a broad summary. If you ever have the opportunity to hear her speak you should go! She does have a book titled unPlanned. If you have time to read it I truly suggest it. I apologize for the raw material in this post but it is the truth and it is going on every day in our country.
