It is official! I will be leaving for the Philippines one month from tomorrow! The only thing I have to get through is 7 more nursing tests and a 7 pg paper in the next three weeks :( Oh, well! I am almost done and then I will be a senior!! Whoop whoop! I would just like to send out a big thank you to everyone who has supported me. It is an amazing opportunity to have a nursing internship in another country but of course it costs money instead of earns money. But that's ok! This internship is a little different from those in the U.S. For one, I get to deliver babies everyday! And two, its a Christian non-profit organization on an island. Um hello! Dream job! I am looking forward to living and learning from these missionaries who have given up their "American Dream" and moved to the Philippines to help God's people and educate those willing to do the same. It is still my desire to take my nursing career out of the country once I graduate and this is the first stepping stone. I would like to thank everyone who donated to my fund for this trip. I would like to thank those who volunteered at the Carver Hawkeye concession stand to raise money JUST FOR ME. Wow. Throughout this process all I have been able to say is "Man, I have an awesome family, church family, and friends". The community I grew up in is nothing but the best. Thank you very much for all the support and prayers. I did not expect any of this but am very thankful for all of it.
I have never had a blog before so please bare with me. I will try to keep it up to date as much as I can.
Thanks!
